Academics
First Pillar
Academics are important to every member of Alpha Pi Phi. We prioritize our education above all else, actively helping one another to improve and succeed in our classes. This is done with regular study sessions and mandatory study hours each month. Alpha Pi Phi members are involved in numerous clubs and groups on campus and encourage new members to join these or other clubs to better get to know the fabric of our school.
Study Hours
Each sister active in Alpha Pi Phi is required to complete a minimum of three study hours per month. Study hours are periods of time where two or more APP sisters will meet up and do some work together! This is to make sure all of our baby swans are working hard and not falling behind in school work. Remember, sisterhood is important, but so are academics! ♡
Falling Behind?
Here at Mu Chapter, your sisters, bigs, and executive council are all here to help you succeed. If a sister is ever falling behind in their academics there are SO many individuals they could potentially go to, especially the current NMSO, Academic Support Chair, or Vice President! ♡
Study Spaces On Campus
As academics are an important part of Alpha Pi Phi, with it being one of our four pillars, the sisters spend a lot of time studying. Adrianne likes to study by the big windows on the bottom floor of O’Malley Library because of the natural light that the windows let in. Katie and Maddy are both homebodies, so they prefer to study in the comfort of their rooms. Jamie enjoys studying in Kelly Commons because of the comfortable atmosphere and the close proximity to snacks and drinks. Gabby prefers to do her work on the first floor of Thomas, this is because it is usually empty, giving her a quiet space to focus. As for Pam, since she is a biochemistry major she usually does her most studying in the common area of the Higgins building, where the majority of her classes are held. ♡
